This helm is loosely inspired by original helmets found in the sites of Vendel, Uppland located on the eastern coast of Sweden. These helmets share a close resemblance with the helmets of the Late Roman Age, portraying them as a form of transition helmets between the Late Roman Period and the Viking period. This helmet is ideal for early medieval or Viking warrior ensembles at your next fair or LARP.
It is made from 16-gauge blackened mild steel, lined with a padded liner (made of a thick layer of padding sandwiched between thick, high-quality canvas). The (24×21) cm base makes room for a maximum head circumference of 68 cm. The eye guard is 16.5 cm wide with a 12.5 cm long nasal. The eye slits are (6.6×3.1) cm. A leather strap and steel buckle closure. The total height is 29.2 cm with a 17 cm high cap/skull and 12.5 cm x 14.3 cm cheek plates. Weighs about 2 Kg 588 grams.
